A clinical-turned-Holistic Esthetician, Rebecca first discovered holistic esthetics through several serendipitous encounters in the summer of 2016. Just 6 months later, while attending the first Laurel Educational Retreat, Rebecca came to be fascinated with, all things Holistic Skin Care. On day three of the four day retreat, Rebecca experienced a “quantum moment”, defined as a moment in time that takes one by surprise, but is intuitively understood to the person as life-altering. In this moment, Rebecca knew that she had found her soul-gift – her vehicle for being a contribution to herself and to the world. And so began the evolution that has culminated in the creation of Bloom.
Since Mid-January, 2017, Rebecca has experienced a personal and professional transformation that is awe-inspiring. Through the utilization of plant-based beauty practices, energy work, and a new-found passion for lavishing herself with impeccable self-care, Rebecca has effortlessly lost 65 lbs, healed her own rosacea, and found sobriety. She continues to evolve through an insatiable hunger for knowledge, self-awareness, expansion, and contribution.
In founding Bloom Healing Botanical Spa, Rebecca aims to assist others in reclaiming their own natural state of health and beauty. Because Rebecca has personally experienced the same symptoms and ailments suffered by many, she is able to find a way of explaining and implementing small shifts that create massive change.
Spa Coordinator + Holistic Esthetician
In July 2019 Chelsea started her Holistic Esthetician Apprenticeship under Bloom Healing Botanical Spa’s founder, Rebecca Mattice, and it quickly became clear that Chelsea had finally landed in her calling. However, Chelsea’s journey into Holistic Esthetics wasn’t a quick straight line.
Chelsea made the decision to go to beauty school in early 2012 after years of childhood day dreams filled with DIY face masks and all things beauty. She took evening classes while working full time as a nanny and received her Esthetics license in early 2013. However, when faced with limiting beliefs and the realization that waxing and clinical esthetics was not something that inspired the passion she had expected, Chelsea took on other career opportunities until the pull to the beauty world was too strong to ignore any longer. In 2015 she found herself working for a well known green beauty brand and quickly worked her way up within the company, all the while, trying to convince herself that even if she wasn’t practicing skin care, she was still in the industry and that was enough. But it wasn’t. In mid 2018 Chelsea found her personal life in turmoil and the job that she once loved so much was no longer bringing her joy, she needed a change and felt the universe pulling at her but was not sure where to go; at this point the idea of practicing skin care was one that she had completely pushed out of her awareness. In February 2019, Chelsea decided to take a leap of faith and quit her job without another job lined up, without a healthy bank account, and with no back up plan in sight. The universe had her back. Soon after taking the leap, Rebecca serendipitously heard that Chelsea was looking for a change and reached out. By March, Chelsea had found herself back in an administrative role in the skin care world at Bloom and things felt shiny and new. While this new role sparked joy and felt right, it wasn’t long, before those undeniable nudges from the universe started again. Under Rebecca’s coaching and guidance, the two of them figured out that the nudges from the universe were telling Chelsea to get her hands on people. She was meant to be practicing skin care in a way that was unlike any other she had experienced before and that by following her soul gifts, she could heal the people that she was working on and impact their lives in meaningful ways, skin deep and beyond.
Rebecca guided Chelsea through a treasure trove of personal and spiritual growth practices that encouraged and inspired her to change her way of thinking and to be open to all that could be. During this time, Rebecca introduced Chelsea to Access Bars, a form of energetic work that assists in clearing out the limiting beliefs of the recipient, and encourages them to ask the question “how does it get any better than this?” Access Bars has quickly become something that Chelsea is extremely passionate about and incorporates this work into all of her facial treatments. it is her desire to bring self love, and self awareness to all that find themselves in treatment with her and to offer an experience that embodies Love, Compassion, Nurturing, and Adventure within. How does it get any better than that?
Chelsea is now offering energy rich facial treatments and Access Bars appointments. She is looking forward to adding Gua Sha, Reiki Healing, and Energetic Facelifts to her service menu in the near future.
